Events, talks and media

I have over 8 years experience as a hedgehog rehabilitator and wildlife gardener. I regularly give talks to groups ranging from 5 to 500 people and have a background working in marketing and public relations. You can read more about my freelance communications work in York here.

I offer a number of services that help raise funds for my rescue work:

Hedgehog talks, open days and wildlife safaris – I regularly run Open House days where you can explore my York wildlife garden and get top tips for wildlife gardening and how to help hedgehogs. I also run evening hedgehog talks with night wildlife garden safaris. I also open up my jewellery shop throughout the year. I am running courses online during the Coronavirus. You can see my listings for 2021 events here. I add more dates all the time. Please get in touch if you would like to know more or would like to organise a bespoke date for your group.

Talks – I have experience of giving talks to a wide range of group sizes. I’m able to talk to your group, business or society about both hedgehogs and wildlife gardening. I make a charge for talks to cover my time and travel costs. Please drop me a line if you are interested in me visiting your group.

Wildlife garden appraisals: I can visit your garden and make recommendations for how to make it more wildlife friendly. I will visit and discuss your objectives and will then give you a report with my best advice for your specific requirements, garden and budget. This will include what plants to grow and wildlife features to consider as well as how to create them. Appraisals cost from £50 depending on your location. I am based in York.

Media: I have over 20 years experience working in marketing and public relations. I have used my skills to raise awareness of hedgehogs in the local and national news. You can see some examples below. I am available for interview and can also advise charities, individuals and businesses on how to use the media to raise awareness.

Partnerships and collaborations: I am always happy to collaborate with individuals and brands that fit with my values of sustainability, ethical shopping, the environment and helping wildlife.

Silver clay jewellery courses. Create your own piece of nature inspired silver jewellery on one of my silver jewellery courses. You will learn how to use silver clay and how to sand and fire it.
