Ethical gifts for wildlife lovers
My guide to ethical gift ideas that support wildlife and nature and also give back. Many of these ethical gifts won’t cost the earth or will give wildlife a helping hand and make perfect gifts for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries or any other special occasion. If you want to go present free, you could always donate direct to one of the charities or your local wildlife rescue

Hedgehog garden gifts
Hedgehog water bowls
These beautiful mosaic hedgehog bowls are the perfect size and weight for your visiting hedgehogs to drink from and they look fabulous too. Lots of other designs are also available. Visit http://www.josara.co.uk/

Hedgehog home gifts
I recommend a sturdy wooden house to give the best protection against the elements and predators. I love these from local East Yorkshire makers Gardenwood Creations.

Adopt a hedgehog (or a bee!)
Many wildlife rescues run their own ‘adopt a hedgehog’ schemes. Google for details. You can also adopt a hedgehog via the Wildlife Trusts.

The following companies offer some fabulous wildlife inspired products – from tea towels to ceramic mugs.

People’s Trust for Endangered Species – wildlife gifts
Ethical jewellery
I make handmade silver jewellery inspired by nature and wildlife. My jewellery is ethical – created using recycled silver and it also donates towards my wildlife rescue work. It comes gift boxed with a postcard of a rescue hedgehog and information about how you can help hedgehogs. Visit my jewellery shop at www.littlesilverhedgehog.etsy.com
Create a wildlife garden
Anything you can do to help insects will ultimately help hedgehogs and other wildlife. I love these tins from Seedball – simply throw them on your garden and they will create a beautiful butterfly border or meadow.

Hedgehog gift cards
My hedgehog gift cards make a wonderful gift. They can be used for my silver nature jewellery, my hedgehog talks and garden safaris and also my silver jewellery workshops. To purchase a gift card, please contact me.

Happy shopping and thanks for buying gifts that give back!
